Slovakia - Day 15: Vricke Selo - Sklene

Another sign
200 miles! It is important to celebrate little things.

Another day in the trees. But nice trees and good views when they open up as the walk generally follows the ridge. Still too hot for any wildlife, I’m beginning to think that there is not too much wildlife in Slovakia. But they say that the best protection is to make a noise. We don’t walk quietly. Going uphill we don’t say much but we do breathe heavily.

A Meadow
Got “roaded” again but not by much. If trees have been felled, then the path can be hard to find, as the markings get taken away with the trees. We didn’t have a GPS device but speaking to people who have they seem to be a very good aid to navigation. But we haven’t got one yet – so maybe we are old school, or mean or just old. But it is just more to carry and one extra charger. Note to the Powers That Be: Why don’t they standardise chargers?

Another Meadow
This part of Slovakia is very green and clean, perfect for lots of sports. Walking, cycling, skiing to name but a few.

The route generally, stays away from civilization. Which is great but can mean on occasion that there is an add on at the beginning and the end of the day. When you are hot and tired these end of day off route bits can be sole and soul destroying.
Rocks

Talking of footwear, three of the four of us have worn trainers the whole trip so far. The fourth boots. But as it’s been dry and the going not rocky at all. A good pair of trainers will do it seems. Poor weather, rocky terrain a different story, but we haven’t seen any rain yet or many rocks.
Obvious Path
We stayed with our friends again.
Flat!!!

It’s good to know people.

A ridge walk!!!

Don’t you just love trees. Slovakia is a forested country live with it.
