Remnants |
The tents were covered in splash-mud. I had picked the wrong camp spot. But we abluted and went down to the village. Back to the same place for breakfast. One night in a place a three times in the same bar.
I'm beginning to think my wife and or daughter just fancied the barman.
Today was a special day - IGCSE (my daughters exams) results. So we had to be somewhere that had WIFI. So it was a 2:25 walk to the next campsite. A rest day. Then hopefully in the evening when the results were released a big celebration.
Clearing |
The rain had left its mark along what appeared to be an old railway track we took as we left town. We ran parallel to the road till a campsite then turned and did the only climb of the day. It was a bitch, in the sun and hot. We survived, I didn't fall, then we traversed the hill to Jou.

Flat!!! |
But that is what it is there for.
Down to the campsite. To discover that (Nou Camping);
a) they hated walkers
b) they hated walkers
c) the storm of last night had wiped out telecommunications in the area, including WIFI
I think the name should be pronounced 'No Camping'.
Down the valley |
Ha.
And went to explore. A lake at the bottom gave us the opportunity for a short walk and then to a restaurant for refreshments which also became the restaurant that provided dinner later. We are loyal or lazy.
So no exam results. But even worse. On looking at the emails to see how we could get the results without wifi we discovered that we had got the wrong day!
She still had a few more days to wait.
